done by a scholar over 1700 years ago, is precise.
The Tibetan script reads "Om Ma-ni Pa-dme Hum,"
but Tibetans pronounce the mantra "Om Ma-ni Pe-me Hung"
(in both cases, short "e' as in "say", long "u" as in "room")
